This metallic thread from our favorite embroidery floss maker is just the ticket! Nishikiito (from Nishiki meaning brocade or fine clothes) is the Cosmo brand metallic thread for hand embroidery. It is crafted with the same technique used to produce gold thread in traditional Japanese clothing. Nishiki thread is the type often used for making Obi belts for Japanese Kimonos.

This thread has beautiful clear colors with a metallic sheen and are resistant to friction, good for not only stitching but also making tatting lace and tassels. The spool contains 20 meters (about 22 yards) of plied thread comprised of 62% nylon / 38% polyester.

Not recommended for machine use. Do not iron.
